Visitors can reach Lindos by renting a car or arriving with tour boats departing daily from Mandraki Harbour. Out of all the excursions in Rhodes, the most popular destination is indeed Lindos.
There is a square on the hill displaying shops of arts and crafts. The cafes, bars and overlooking the landscape from the terraces of restaurants are very tempting. You can reach the village set on the hill through a maze of winding streets that curls around the hill and leads to the flowery courtyards of the houses. In the village centre, there exists the church of the Panagias. On top of the village hill, sits the Lindos Acropolis and above that is the Temple of Athena one of the most holy places in the Archaic World, where Alexander the Great, Helen of Troy and Herakles is said to visited. One of the amuzing ways of reaching the Acropolis and the castle is by donkeys that you can hire from the village centre.
